Top things to do in Las Vegas with kids

We all know that Las Vegas is not a children’s resort. However, a family holiday in Vegas can be exciting, informative, and a lot of fun! This amazing city has no less entertainment for children than for adults.

But just bear in mind you shouldn’t take children to Las Vegas who are younger then 10-12 years of age. So we will help you to choose the best things to do in Las Vegas for kids.

1. M&M’s World

On Las Vegas Strip, in front of the New York hotel there is an amazing shop – M&M’s World. This is the real world of chocolate M&M’s. Huge M&Ms characters meet you outside. On the second floor you will find various souvenirs, as well as an M&Ms wall with tubes containing candies of all colours and sizes.

On the third floor there is another tube with candy, but here you can paint your letters or drawings on M&Ms. Such a pleasure is almost twice as expensive as regular candy, but it’s worth it. Also on the third floor you can find a cinema, where you can watch a small, free, three-dimensional film. Upstairs they sell various souvenirs and figurines. Undoubtedly, your children will have a lot of fun in the M&M’s World.

2. Wet’n’Wild

If you are looking for things to do with kids in Las Vegas, without any doubt go to Wet’n’Wild. It is a huge water park in the famous Wet’n’Wild group of water parks with all the conceivable attractions.

There are huge, swirling “Tornado” cascade, slides with extreme heights, waterfalls, pools with ocean waves and water parks for the kids here. And once a week in the summer you can visit the open-air cinema: lying on an inflatable ring, slowly rocking on the waves, as you watch the latest children’s films and cartoons.

3. Springs Preserve

Do you know what is the best family things to do in Las Vegas? No? Welcome to Springs Preserve, a modern high-tech world in the Mojave Desert, located about three miles west of Las Vegas city. The big entertainment and educational complex consists of a museum, botanical gardens and wildlife exhibits, thematic exhibitions, interactive exhibitions photo galleries, and many interesting things for children.

One of the most popular attractions is the story of the quiet and unhurried life of the desert – unless streams of water come from the mountain. 23,000 litres of water suddenly fall down into the canyon scenery and a raging torrent pours literally under the feet of visitors. Another “miracle” of the complex is DesertSol.

It’s a unique house, whose infrastructure is entirely based on the use of solar energy. And besides, there is also an amazing playground for kids and a number of hiking trails that pass through wetland sites. The average duration of visit is 2 – 3 hours.

4. Sky Zone

All kids love energetic activity. So they will be happy to visit the SKY ZONE. It’s a huge range of trampolines, which allow them to jump and somersault. You can just jump on the perfect sports trampolines, or you can jump into a sea of 10,000 soft foam cubes, play ball, do fitness and much more.

Children are sorted by height for their safety. There are regular classes on a trampoline: jumping, aerobics, ball, acrobatics, and so on.

5. Discovery Children’s Museum

Among cognitive things to do for kids in Las Vegas is an interactive museum where children can learn, in an entertaining way, a lot of interesting things about art and science. Familiar and new programmes and exhibits are aimed at entertaining learning, and are very popular with children of different ages.

6. Shark Reef

The most memorable things for kids to do in Las Vegas in my opinion is visiting Shark Reef. Shark Reef Aquarium, which is located at Mandalay Bay, is reminiscent of an underwater ocean temple.

The visitors stroll in the tunnel, which is decorated as a sunken ship. Shark Reef was opened in Las Vegas in the year 2000. You can see two tiger sharks in the tunnel. The length of each one is 5 metres. Sharks in Shark Reef are fed, so they don’t touch their neighbourhood fish or other marine life.

For example, the tiny blue swallows fish swim together with the huge sharks. When it comes to cleaning aquariums, divers put on costumes made of stainless steel, which looks like knights’ armour. Thus dressed, people do not look attractive to the sharks.

7. Bonnie Springs Old Nevada

Next item of fun things for kids to do in Las Vegas is the family park Bonnie Springs Old Nevada. In the territory of the park there are cosy restaurants, shops and even a zoo.

Children can ride horses, try on real cowboy costumes and learn how to shoot a gun – of course, a toy gun.

8. Zion National Park

Zion National Park

Among things to do around Las Vegas with family is visiting the Zion National Park. It can, with certainty, be called the most beautiful park in the State of Nevada – of course, after the Grand Canyon.

This is not surprising, because Zion is just a huge canyon, with a number of bright shades of red and yellow, which is sometimes even blinding. There is the amazing Checkerboard Mesa mountain here. You can discover the Weeping Rock: it’s a slope from which a spring drips like a tears. But in the winter, the slopes of the beautiful cliffs are covered by a layer of ice.

9. Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil is unparalleled throughout the world. This is a unique, wonderful, inimitable, phenomenal circus that you just must visit. Each show contains much more than the usual performances of acrobats and clowns; this is a unique show, which take place continuously, without break.

Each performance is carefully planned by a team of professionals who choose a theme and sequence of actions for the show.

10. Lion Habitat at MGM Grand

All children love animals, so take them to the Lion’s Habitat at MGM Grand. In the three-storey nursery of wild animals at the MGM Grand, you can see lions and their cubs, some of whom are direct descendants of the famous lion depicted in the logo of Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM).

Visitors can walk through the nursery, enclosed by a glass wall and experience the thrill of large predatory cats in the immediate vicinity.
